Boynton Beach To Increase Safety Measures After Brightline Deaths

City leaders say Boynton Beach is now installing new safety measures after Brightline trains have hit and killed several people.

The exit gates will make it harder for people to maneuver around them.

Video from the Brightline train showed one bicyclist who was hit and killed rode around the gates that were down.

Several intersections will soon be under construction to install the new gates.

With back to back local Brightline fatalities and Tuesday’s fatal Amtrak crash, city leaders and lawmakers like Sgt. Brian Mast who was on board the train, are taking their fight to Washington in and effort to stop Brightline from expanding.
