FDA: Many South Florida Women May Need to Retake Mammogram

Hundreds of women in South Florida may be victims of an invalid mammogram.

The FDA advises them to have their recent mammograms retaken if they visited Palm Beach-Broward Medical Imaging Center in Deerfield Beach also known as Radiology Express after April 2016.

The Food and Drug Administration has issued the warning after a yearly inspection of the imaging center found multiple inspection violations, including problems with the way women were positioned on the X-ray machines at the facility.

FDA says the more pressing issue is that women who had the inaccurate mammograms could have breast cancer and not even know it.

The FDA advises if you had a mammogram at Radiology Express after April 2, 2016 to talk to your doctor about getting another one performed.
