First Responders Escort Shooting Victim Home From Hospital

Local first responders gave a special escort home to one of the Parkland shooting survivors.

Kyle Laman, 15, was discharged from Broward Health North Thursday surgeons reconstructed ligaments in his leg and ankle.

Laman received the red-carpet escort by members of the Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department.

He had to be carefully tranported because implanted rods are still holding up his right leg and foot.

The teen is still dealing with the emotional and physical trauma that he experienced on Valentine’s Day.

While he recovered from surgery, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School reopened Wednesday. Today was the last half day for the 3000 traumatized students. They will return to a full schedule on Monday.

The freshman building where the shooting happened is closed and the Broward County Commission voted unanimously to demolish it.

There have been dozens of grief counselors available to students and teachers on campus.

One patient is still in fair condition at Broward Health Medical Center.
