Kevin Smith is doing fine after suffering a self-described “massive heart attack.”
The actor, writer, and director posted a selfie to Twitter Sunday of himself in the hospital. He explained that after his first show at the Alex Theater, he had to cancel the second show to go to the hospital.
Doctors informed the “Clerks” star that the heart attack was serious, and that he had a 100% blockage of the left anterior descending artery. An artery Kevin called the “widow maker.”
Kevin is still in the hospital, and well wishes continue to flow.
Have you ever thought to get your heart checked out? Are you living heart smart?
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
