It Looks Like Matthew Will Be Off Our Coast On Thursday

Updated: 8am

The new Tuesday morning forecast track for hurricane Matthew is in, and we’re at a risk of major impacts, perhaps hurricane conditions. The latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center shows Matthew is a powerful category 4 hurricane with max winds of 145 mph. It’s now hitting Haiti. The movement is north at 9 mph. The forecast path will take the hurricane through the Bahamas tomorrow, , then come very near Florida’s east coast later Thursday and Thursday night. It’s likely that a major hurricane (category 3+) will parallel the Florida east coast through Thursday and overnight through early Friday morning. Matthew will then gradually turn north- northeast and likely impact parts of Georgia, and the Carolinas.
