Chris Botti in concert at the Kravis Center, April 21! What a phenomenal show! I just enjoyed every piece of music and his band is so tight and truly remarkable!
I had to wait back stage for a while to get him for any pictures, but Chris is gracious and more than accommodating to his audience and obviously, WE in radio that play his music!
The Kravis Center is a gorgeous theater surrounded by fountains and tall glass windows and lovely people all dressed up for the night! The folks that make sure the show goes on, Melinda and Gin are true professionals!
I have seen and interviewed Chris now a few times over the past several years since his beginning as a Solo artist, coming out from under the protective wing of Sting. Chris mentions Sting during his performance and praises his work and thanks him for all his help over the years and considers him his Mentor. Chris's violinist Caroline Campbell is absolutely riveting on the Violin. The energy between her and Chris is remarkable and she brings a lot to the performance when she comes out. Chris also honors his band and gives them such wonderful praise and gratitude for helping him sound so great!
A lot of stations have considered Chris just a Smooth Jazz Artist, but he is so much more!
His music style is JAZZ, the real stuff and his arrangements and interpretations of some of the Covers that he plays and his own compositions are so deep and just layer upon layer of delicious Jazz…you can truly sink your teeth into it.
If you missed Chris Botti…shame on you! Do not miss him the next time he comes to town. His charisma, presentation and musical depth is something really worth seeing!
