What’s In Bloom?

Hi, this is Jennifer Ross and this week’s whats in bloom features Jack Fruit – the largest tree fruit in the world, capable of reaching 100 pounds!   Jackfruits are also a nutritional bonanza: high in protein, potassium and vitamin B and tastes like a cross between hearts of palm, kimchi, and pineapple.

You can see Jack Fruit in bloom, taste it, or buy it along with nearly 100 varieties of mangos, papayas, bananas, passionfruit, lychees and more at the Tropical Fruit Festival this Sunday – Fathers Day at Mounts Botanical Garden. The festival also features tropical infused, wines, teas, beers, lemonades, salsa, chicken and much more! The festival is Sunday, June 18 from 10 am to 4 pm at Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach on Military trail between Belvedere and Southern Boulevard
