A Rare Aquatic Treat For Boaters On Florida’s West Coast

A fisherman is showing proof of a rare encounter in Florida’s Gulf Coast waters.  Brad Ward recorded video of a whale shark off of New Pass in Sarasota.  Ward was fishing when he spotted the whale shark feeding on a line of plankton.  Whale sharks are the world’s largest fish species and are filter feeders.  They feed mostly on plankton and small fish, and pose no threat to humans.
