Eddie Murphy won his first-ever Emmy award. He had been nominated four times prior to this win. He won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his December 2019 hosting of Saturday Night Live. He recorded his acceptance speech and said in part, this was a very, very special thing for me to come back and have the show turn out the way it did. I’m still floating from it.
