Florida now has an official state dessert. Governor Ron DeSantis was at the Strawberry Festival in Hillsborough County yesterday to sign a bill naming strawberry shortcake as the state’s official dessert. At the annual festival in Plant City, he said the bill supports strawberry farmers and is a tribute to the more than 10-thousand acres of strawberries that are grown in greater Plant City.
