It may be hard to believe, but the movie, “Jaws” is 47 years old!  The film was released on June 20th, 1975.  And to celebrate the anniversary, here’s a little myth-busting for you:  The “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” line from “Jaws” was NOT ad-libbed by Roy Scheider, as many people believe.  Screenwriter Carl Gottlieb says it was always in the script. He also say that line was used by everyone on the set  whenever anything went wrong,  which apparently was A LOT!
