Jeopardy Champion’s Win Streak Ends Due To Spelling Error

Jeopardy! champion Ben Chan’s eight-day winning streak ended on a technicality.
Chan went into Final Jeopardy with the lead, and wagered $12,201 on the category ‘Shakespeare Characters’. The clue: “Both of the names of these 2 lovers in a Shakespeare play come from Latin words for ‘blessed’.”
Chan had the right answer – Beatrice and Benedict. Unfortunately, he misspelled the latter name “Benedick” – and the judges ruled his answer incorrect.
Fans took to social media to declare Chan was “robbed”. But he still goes home with more than $252,000 in winnings for his eight-day run.
Do you agree with the judges, or should they have accepted Chan’s answer? Which game show would you do well at?
