Martha Stewart, an 81-year-old entrepreneur, is the oldest model to have ever graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, proving that age is nothing more than a number.
On Monday, S.I. unveiled the special cover, which features the TV personality and best-selling author in the Dominican Republic wearing a white one-piece halter swimming suit.
Martha said, “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated.'”
She continued, “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”
She added, “Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age.”
In addition to Stewart, Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and seasoned SI Swimsuit model Brooks Nader were chosen to be the other three ladies on the cover.
