’80s MTV icons Modern English will launch a U.S. tour in late August during which they’ll perform their 1982 album After the Snow in its entirety.
This is actually a rescheduling of the band’s 2020 tour, which of course, had to be postponed due to the pandemic. The new dates begin August 21 in Minneapolis, MN and are set to wrap September 19 in West Springfield, MA.
The band is also making available for download a new version of “I Melt With You,” which first appeared on After the Snow.
Recorded in 2020, this “Lockdown Version,” which was recorded remotely from each band member’s respective home, will benefit the National Independent Venue Association. NIVA is providing assistance to venues that have suffered financially due to the COVID-19 shutdown of the live touring business.
You can find the full list of dates on Modern English’s Facebook page. The band’s most recent album was 2017’s Take Me to the Trees.
