Three Bolivian children, ages 12, 10 and 8, allowed a black widow to sting them thinking they’d turn into comic book superhero Spider-Man.
The boys were tending to goats in the town of Chayanta when they poked the spider with a stick on May 14th.
The boys quickly started to experience symptoms when their mother rushed them to a medical center, however they continued to get worse. They were then rushed to another hospital, but still was suffering from muscular pain, sweating, fever, and tremors.
They were then taken to a children’s hospital in La Paz where they were given a serum for the bites which helped them improve, they were released on May 20th. Black widows aren’t known to be aggressive.
Have you ever been bitten by a spider? I have twice! Both times it was horrible! I had to go to MD Now and get medicine and once almost had to go to the hospital! I am not a huge fan of nature.
