They Said “Go Your Own Way” To Each Other…But They Still Care.

Even though Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey Buckingham each decided to go their own way, singer Stevie Nicks still reached out to the guitarist after his heart attack.

According to Nicks, she wrote Buckingham a letter right after his heart attack.  “You better take care of yourself,” it said. “You better take it easy and you better do everything they tell you and get your voice back and feel the grace that you have made it through this.”

Nicks says that Buckingham’s split from the band was a “long time coming.” Talking with the Los Angeles Times about his departure, she says, “Any time we re-formed to do a tour or a record, I always walked in with hope in my heart. And I just was so disappointed. I felt like all the wind had gone out of my sails.”

Fleetwood Mac has never shied away from drama. Buckingham was booted from the band in 2018. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, it was after Buckingham smirked while Nicks was giving a speech. The ultimatum of choosing who would stay and go was presented and Buckingham was ousted.

As a Fleetwood Mac fan, who would you choose to keep in the band and who would you replace? Would you reach out to a former friend after a major health scare?
