Two days after marrying her longtime love, Debbie Neal-Strickland donated her kidney-to the ex-wife of the man she just married.
Strickland’s husband Jim had been divorced from Mylean Merthe for two decades, but remained friendly. And it’s a good thing!
Knowing that Merthe had a grandchild on the way and was needing a match for a kidney donor, Debbie Neal-Strickland had no problem stepping up.
“This is what the world is about. Family. We need to stick together,” said Merthe. “She saved my life.”
